Summer Free Lunches
11:00 AM to NOON Central Elementary School and Ward Central Elementary School Cabot Public Schools will serve free lunches to students and adults of the community from through July 19th (excluding Thursday and Friday, July 4th and 5th). Lunches will be served at Ward Central Elementary and Central Elementary, Monday through Thursday, 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. and Fridays, 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Erin Wilkes, Director of Food Services for Cabot Public Schools, invites anyone to take advantage of this program. Each meal that is served to a person 18 or under is reimbursable through the Department of Education, Child Nutrition Department and the adult meals will be funded by the “Share our Strength” grant. Arkansas Children's Hospital is seeking women who are thinking about becoming pregnant or are currently less than 10-weeks pregnant with their 2nd child to participate in GLOWING; a research study conducted by Arkansas Children's Nutrition Center designed to look at how a mother's health during pregnancy affects the health of her child. Saturday, June 15th Little Rock Zoo Admission is only $1 per person all day long! Gates will open at 9 AM and last admission will be at 4 PM with the park closing to the public at 5 PM. The Animal Ambassador Stage will have two shows at 11 AM and at 1:30 PM at the Civitan Amphitheater and other special programs are scheduled throughout the zoo during the day. The zoo has also unveiled its newly renovated tiger exhibit that will also be available for public viewing that day. The new exhibit features a new pool and terraced yards for the tigers and allows new space for the Little Rock Zoo’s female tiger, Suhana, to be separated from the male tiger should she give birth to cubs later this year.
