Cabot Public Library Summer Reading Program Party Sign-up Sign up for the Summer Reading Program Party that will take place on Thursday, June 27th. There will be two separate sign-up sheets: one for children and their families and one for teens. This year the library is having a separate party for the teens (Young Adult Readers.) Please sign-up as the library needs a headcount of how many people will be attending these events. Morgan Drive, Alma Drive Free! Details: The reading bus will travel around the Cabot School District during the summer months allowing children and their families to check out books. The reading bus has a large supply of books and a wide selection to meet an array of interests. All books were donated by patrons and students of the school district. Come see the reading bus when you see it parked. ~ Summer Free Lunches 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM Central Elementary School, 36 Pond Street, Cabot, AR and Ward Central Elementary School, 1570 Wilson Loop Road, Ward, AR Free! Details: Cabot Public Schools will serve free lunches to students and adults of the community from June 10th through July 19th (excluding Thursday and Friday, July 4th and 5th). Lunches will be served at Ward Central Elementary and Central Elementary, Monday through Thursday, 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. and Fridays, 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Erin Wilkes, Director of Food Services for Cabot Public Schools, invites anyone to take advantage of this program. Each meal that is served to a person 18 or under is reimbursable through the Department of Education, Child Nutrition Department and the adult meals will be funded by the “Share our Strength” grant. Details: All summer, Heifer Village will host “Heifer Hour” on Tuesdays and Saturdays for kids and their parents. The event, geared toward grades K-5, feature crafts, games, children’s books, outdoor activities and more to teach kids about caring for the Earth and others. All materials will be provided by Heifer. Heifer Hour is at 11 a.m. on Tuesdays and Saturdays until August 31. All activities are FREE. ~ Summer Reading Hot Spots 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM - Magness Creek Elementary School 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM - Stagecoach Elementary School 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM - Northside Elementary School 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM - Westside Elementary School Free! Details: This summer, the Cabot School District is hosting a summer library program promoting reading and having fun called “Hot Spots.” Every elementary building will host a session each week. There are different days and times available. Each week Hot Spots will focus on authors or genres for different age levels.
